Choose the Equipment First. Then Choose How Far BRT Rebuilds It.
Buying used recycling equipment can create tremendous value.
It can also create tremendous uncertainty.
What’s the actual condition of the machine?
What has been repaired?
What hasn’t?
How much life is left in the wear components?
What happens if something fails after installation?
And perhaps the biggest question:
What does “rebuilt” actually mean?
The answer can vary significantly depending on who’s selling the equipment.
Black River Trading takes a different approach with much of our used equipment inventory.
We can help you choose the right machine first. Then you choose how far you want BRT to take it.
Why We Don’t Automatically Rebuild Everything Before It Sells
Every customer is different.
So is every budget.
A customer looking for an inexpensive backup baler may not need the same level of reconditioning as a facility planning to make that machine its primary production baler for years.
If we completely rebuild every piece of inventory before knowing the application, we make that decision for the customer.
We’d rather give the customer options.
That’s why much of our inventory can be purchased at different equipment/reconditioning levels.
Four BRT Equipment/Rebuild Packages
BRT offers four different equipment/rebuild package levels with corresponding warranty options.
This allows customers to balance:
- Purchase price
- Equipment condition
- Scope of work
- Expected service
- Warranty protection
- Long-term operating plans
Some customers want maximum value and are comfortable with a lower level of reconditioning.
Others want us to go much further through the machine and provide stronger warranty protection.
Neither customer is wrong.
The right answer depends on the application.
Start With the Application
Before discussing paint or rebuild scope, we want to know what the machine needs to do.
What material are you processing?
How much material?
How many hours per day will the equipment operate?
What bale size and density do you need?
Will this be the primary production machine or a backup?
What does your maintenance capability look like?
What’s the budget?
Those answers help us determine which piece of BRT inventory makes sense.
Then we can discuss the appropriate rebuild level.
Auto-Tie Balers
For high-volume OCC, paper, printing, corrugated, distribution, and manufacturing applications, a used or BRT Reconditioned auto-tie baler can provide significant value compared with purchasing new.
The important part is matching capacity and configuration to the operation.
Closed-Door and Full-Eject Balers
A used closed-door baler or full-eject baler can be an excellent fit for facilities that don’t require the production volume of an auto-tie but still need dependable industrial compaction and good bale quality.
Full-eject designs can also provide advantages for bale discharge and certain specialty material applications.
Two-Ram Balers
For customers processing multiple commodities or requiring dense, consistent bales, a BRT Reconditioned two-ram baler can provide tremendous capability at a lower capital investment than new equipment.
These machines deserve particularly careful evaluation and reconditioning because of their complexity and the demanding environments in which they operate.
That’s exactly why the rebuild scope matters.
Shredders, Conveyors and More
Our inventory isn’t limited to balers.
BRT also handles:
- Industrial shredders
- Mobile shredders
- Infeed conveyors
- Drag-chain conveyors
- Belt conveyors
- Box dumpers
- Material-handling equipment
- Other industrial recycling equipment
This gives customers the opportunity to build or upgrade an entire recycling system rather than sourcing each component from a different company.
Used Doesn’t Have to Mean Unknown
This is one of the biggest differences we want customers to understand.
There’s a major distinction between:
Buying an unknown used machine and hoping for the best
and
Selecting used equipment, determining its condition, choosing a defined BRT rebuild package, and having a company available to support it afterward.
Used equipment can be a smart investment.
But knowing what you’re buying matters.
Why This Can Be Better Than Rebuilding Inventory Before the Customer Arrives
Our approach gives customers more control.
Instead of paying for work they may not need, they can choose the appropriate level of investment for the application.
And instead of us guessing how the eventual customer will use the machine, we can rebuild it with the actual application in mind.
That’s a better conversation.
Check Out What’s Available
Black River Trading currently has quality used and reconditionable recycling equipment inventory available, including balers and other material-processing equipment looking for new applications.
If you see a machine that interests you, don’t assume the condition you see today is the only way it can be purchased.
Talk to us.
We’ll discuss the application, the equipment, your budget, and the four BRT equipment/rebuild package options available.
Choose the machine. Choose the rebuild level. Choose the warranty protection that makes sense for your operation.
Then let BRT do the work.
