Another new Balemaster is officially at work.
One of our Black River Trading crews recently completed the installation of a new Balemaster EO-720 auto-tie baler for a customer in Ohio.
But this project wasn't simply about replacing or installing a machine.
We also worked with the customer to relocate the baling system within their facility, creating a layout that better supports their current operational needs.
That's an important distinction.
Because the best baler in the world still needs to be properly integrated into the operation around it.
Start With the Customer's Operation
When we approach a new baler installation, we're not only thinking about where the machine will physically fit.
We're thinking about how material moves through the facility.
How does material reach the baler?
Where are employees working?
What does the current process look like?
Where are the bottlenecks?
How are finished bales handled?
What will production look like in the future?
For this project, relocating the system allowed us to better position the equipment around the customer's needs.
Then we put a new Balemaster EO-720 at the center of it.
Why the Balemaster EO-720?
The EO-720 is part of Balemaster's Group 16 oversized-hopper auto-tie baler lineup.
It's designed around a 44" wide x 30" high bale frame with adjustable bale length and features a large 41.5" x 60" feed chute cross section and 50.4-cubic-foot charging chamber.
The EO-720 is powered by a 50 HP motor and utilizes a 10" hydraulic cylinder.
At the standard 2,000 PSI normal operating pressure, that cylinder produces approximately:
157,100 pounds of total ram thrust.
That's approximately 78.5 tons of force and 119 PSI across the ram face.
At the 2,500 PSI maximum operating pressure, the specifications increase to approximately 196,400 pounds of total force.
That's serious baling capability.
Built for Production
Force matters.
So does speed.
With standard hydraulics, Balemaster rates the EO-720 at approximately 2.2 strokes per minute, or about 27 seconds per stroke, with approximately 7,200 cubic feet per hour of empty-cycle capacity.
The accompanying Balemaster capacity chart lists approximately 7,250 cubic feet per hour no-load and 5,440 cubic feet per hour under load with standard hydraulics. Actual production varies based on material, moisture, feeding system, grade changes, and other application conditions.
For customers who require additional production, enhanced hydraulics are also available. The EO-720 specifications show up to 12,000 cubic feet per hour no-load with the enhanced hydraulic configuration.
But numbers alone aren't why we like these machines.
