There's something we really like about putting a proven piece of equipment back to work.
One of our Black River Trading crews recently completed another successful installation involving a BRT Reconditioned Balemaster EO-2520 Auto-Tie Baler, part of Balemaster's 5200 Series.
But we didn't stop with the baler.
The system was paired with a new 72-inch Titan in-feed conveyor, giving the customer a complete material-handling and baling solution designed to keep material moving and the baler producing.
Reconditioned Balemaster. New conveyor. BRT installation and support.
That's the kind of project we enjoy.
Why Start With a Balemaster?
When BRT evaluates used equipment for reconditioning, the machine we start with matters.
A rebuild doesn't change the fundamental design of the equipment.
That's why we want to invest our time and our customer's money into machines we believe are worth rebuilding.
Balemaster is one of those manufacturers.
We believe Balemaster builds the best auto-tie balers in the industry, and the long service life of these machines is one of the reasons we continue seeing older Balemasters remain valuable candidates for major service and reconditioning.
For the right customer and application, a properly reconditioned Balemaster can provide an excellent alternative when purchasing new equipment isn't the right fit.
What BRT Reconditioned Means
At Black River Trading, “reconditioned” isn't supposed to mean cleaned up and painted.
Our objective is to address the machine where it matters.
Depending on the equipment and package, that can involve significant attention to the:
Hydraulic system.
Cylinders.
Hydraulic reservoir and filtration.
Structural condition.
Wear components.
Ram and chamber.
Auto-tie system.
Electrical controls.
Limit switches and sensors.
Safety systems.
Operational testing.
And cosmetic condition.
We've recently shared pictures of our team physically cleaning the inside of Balemaster hydraulic reservoirs, replacing filtration components, inspecting structural areas, servicing auto-tie components, and preparing complete reline packages.
Much of that work isn't visible once the machine is finished.
But that's exactly the work that matters when the baler goes back into production.
Then You Have to Feed It
A high-production auto-tie baler is only as productive as the material reaching it.
That's why this project also included a new 72-inch Titan in-feed conveyor.
The conveyor and baler need to operate as a system.
Material needs to move efficiently from the loading area into the baler without creating unnecessary labor or bottlenecks.
That's where looking beyond the individual machine becomes important.
At BRT, we don't only ask:
“Which baler do you need?”
We want to understand:
How is material generated?
How will it reach the baler?
How much material needs to be processed?
How will the conveyor be loaded?
What production rate does the customer need?
What happens to the finished bale?
Where does forklift traffic occur?
What will the operation need five years from now?
The answers help us design the system around the application.
New or Reconditioned?
This installation also demonstrates something important about how BRT approaches equipment.
We sell new Balemaster equipment.
We also recondition proven used Balemaster equipment.
Those aren't competing ideas.
They're different solutions for different customers.
When New Makes Sense
For customers making a long-term capital investment, requiring additional production, replacing an aging machine, expanding a facility, or wanting the benefits of a new machine with factory support, a new Balemaster auto-tie baler may provide the best overall value.
You begin with a new machine, known history, current equipment, manufacturer backing, and BRT supporting the application from day one.
When Reconditioned Makes Sense
Capital budgets and project requirements aren't identical for every company.
Sometimes a proven used Balemaster with the right capacity and configuration is available and makes excellent financial sense.
That's where the BRT reconditioning process can create another option.
The goal isn't to force every customer into new or used equipment.
It's to determine which solution makes sense for the operation.
Why Balemaster + BRT?
This is the combination we're working hard to build throughout our territory.
Balemaster provides the equipment and manufacturer support.
BRT provides the local relationship and complete project support.
That can include:
- Application evaluation
- New Balemaster equipment
- BRT Reconditioned Balemaster equipment
- Conveyors and material-handling systems
- Equipment removal and relocation
- Installation
- Startup and commissioning
- Operator training
- Maintenance training
- Balemaster OEM parts
- Preventative maintenance
- Hydraulic oil analysis
- Field service
- Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting
- Baling wire
- Long-term equipment support
We're not interested in simply delivering a baler.
We want to help make the complete system work.
Considering a New Balemaster?
Black River Trading is the Authorized Balemaster Distributor for Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Western Pennsylvania.
If your current baler can't keep up, requires increasing maintenance, lacks the automation your operation needs, or simply isn't the right machine anymore, we'd like the opportunity to look at the application.
Maybe the answer is a new Balemaster auto-tie baler.
Maybe there's a Balemaster in the BRT inventory that makes sense to recondition.
Maybe the baler is fine and the material-handling system around it needs improvement.
Let's determine that before deciding what equipment you need.
This latest EO-2520 project is another great example of what we're building at Black River Trading:
Proven equipment. Quality reconditioning. New material handling. Professional installation. Long-term support.
Great work by our BRT crew, and we appreciate another customer trusting us with their operation.
