But at Black River Trading, we believe the most important part of a quality baler rebuild is often the work you can't see.

That's why we perform our equipment reconditioning in-house, with our own BRT technicians.

Quality Starts in Our Shop

The photo we're sharing today shows one of our BRT technicians working on a baler undergoing reconditioning at our facility.

This is where the real work happens.

Depending on the machine's condition and the selected rebuild package, our technicians may address:

• Hydraulic systems: Cylinders, pumps, valves, hoses, seals, filtration, and hydraulic oil condition.
• Mechanical components: Ram guides, wear liners, bearings, and other critical wear components.
• Structural components: Inspection and repair of the bale chamber, ram, framing, and other high-stress areas.
• Electrical systems: Controls, wiring, sensors, limit switches, and safety devices.
• Auto-tie systems: Inspection, adjustment, and repair of tying components where applicable.
• Equipment testing: Functional testing, adjustments, and inspection before the equipment is released.

These are the areas that can directly affect equipment reliability, performance, and service life.

A fresh coat of paint doesn't fix a worn cylinder, damaged liner, or failing hydraulic system.

That's why the details matter.

Not Every Used Baler Needs the Same Rebuild

One of the things that makes Black River Trading different is our approach to used equipment.

We don't believe every customer needs the same level of reconditioning.

Some customers are looking for an economical used machine.

Others want equipment with more extensive repairs, component replacement, testing, and warranty coverage.

That's why BRT offers five equipment packages, allowing customers to select the level of investment that fits their operation.

Our packages range from BRT Core and BRT Verified through BRT Certified, BRT Reconditioned, and BRT Refurbished.

Each package has its own scope of work, requirements, and applicable warranty terms.

This gives customers options rather than forcing every used machine into one price category.

Why In-House Reconditioning Matters

When we perform our own reconditioning, our team has direct involvement in the work.

We can inspect components, evaluate equipment condition, identify developing issues, and determine what repairs are appropriate for the selected package.

It also gives us an opportunity to better understand the equipment we're selling.

That knowledge becomes valuable when the customer needs parts, service, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance in the future.

We're not simply moving used equipment from one customer to another. We're building long-term relationships around the equipment we sell and support.

Reconditioning isn't always the right answer.
